Happy New Year to us! The ewes are starting to drop lambs. Daphne gave us twin ewe lambs this morning, Flopsy and Mopsy. I also know that Shirley, Laverne, Jan, Marcia and Lucy look like they will be close behind her. Lambing season is here!
What's all the kurfuffle? Shaggy (5 months) and Trouble (10 months) come over to see what all the fuss is about
Here's Daphne with her new little ones - Mopsy (the mostly black one) and Flopsy. We separated her for the morning so she could eat some extra hay and oats, without being bothered, and it gave us some time to make sure both lambs could figure out how to nurse (and that mom would stand still and let them!)
Here's little Flopsy getting a drink from mom
And here is Mopsy - thinking she wants to try out some hay!
And this is not a lamb. This is Klondike, our old kitty that was declawed. She might have been a good mouser, if she hadn't been declawed. She's really no good as a farm cat as a result, but she's a nice lap warmer inside.
